Description
You can use any mint candies for this recipe: both round candies and candy canes.
Ingredients
- Mint-Filled Chocolate Candies - 30 pieces
- 3.2% Milk - 1 cup
- 33% Cream - 2 cups
- Sugar - 4.2 oz
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Crush the candies in a food processor until they are in small pieces. Place half of the broken candies on a plate and set aside.
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, salt, and the other half of the candies. Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar is fully dissolved and the candies are partially dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Pour the milk mixture into a separate pot and let it cool to room temperature.
Step 3
Add the cold cream to the cooled milk mixture and mix well. Tightly cover the pot with a lid and refrigerate for 2–4 hours for further chilling.
Step 4
Remove the ice cream from the refrigerator, pour it into an ice cream maker, and churn for 20–40 minutes. In the last minute of churning, add the remaining crushed candies. Afterward, fill a container with the resulting mixture and place it in the freezer for 3–4 hours until fully set.
Step 5
If you don't have an ice cream maker, immediately pour the ice cream mixture into a container, add the candies, mix, and place it in the freezer. Take the container out and stir the contents every half hour until set.
