Ingredients
- Light Brown Sugar - 9.3 oz
- Granulated sugar - 9.3 oz
- Cinnamon - 4 teaspoons
- Unsalted butter - 4.2 oz
- Almonds - 4.9 oz
- All-purpose flour - 3 cups
- Baking Powder - 1 tablespoon
- Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Buttermilk - 14 fl oz
- Eggs - 3 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a medium bowl, mix 65 g of granulated sugar, 65 g of light brown sugar, 3 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 15 g of melted and cooled butter until the mixture resembles wet sand. Then add roughly chopped nuts.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 356°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and grease a 20 x 30 cm baking dish with vegetable oil.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, remaining granulated and brown sugars, eggs, and 105 g of melted and cooled butter. Then gently add the sugar-egg mixture to the flour and mix with a silicone spatula until the mixture is smooth.
Step 4
Pour the batter into the prepared dish, spread the sugar-nut mixture on top, and bake for 40-45 minutes, until the crust is golden brown. Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
