Description
Classic Ice Cream Sandwich
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 12.3 oz
- Cocoa Powder - 1.1 oz
- Butter - 10.1 oz
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Salt - ¾ teaspoon
- Whole egg - 2 pieces
- Vanillin - 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla Ice Cream - 37 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 347°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Mix the flour and cocoa powder. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter, sugar, flour mixture, and salt until smooth. Add the egg yolks and vanillin, and beat again. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and roll each out on a board. If the dough is too soft, wrap it in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator until it is firm enough to roll out (about 30 minutes). Cut the rolled-out sheets into rectangles (you should get a total of 24). Transfer the cookies to the baking sheets and bake for 16–18 minutes (they should be firm in the center). Let cool.
Step 2
On the baking sheet where the cookies were baked, evenly spread the ice cream (slightly softened) to create an even layer. Place in the freezer to harden the ice cream, then cut the hardened ice cream into 12 equal pieces (use 1 cookie as a stencil).
Step 3
Place a layer of ice cream between two identical cookies and wrap each sandwich in plastic wrap (to maintain its shape). Place all sandwiches in the freezer.
