Description

You can optionally add chocolate, raisins, nuts, shredded coconut, banana, or candied fruits to the dough. It's best to use finely ground oats, or you can slightly grind regular oats in a coffee grinder. I particularly enjoyed the version of the cookies with dark chocolate, shredded coconut, walnuts, and pieces of banana.

Ingredients

  • Butter - 7.1 oz
  • Sugar - 5.3 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
  • Baking Powder - 2 spoons
  • Oat flakes - 1½ glasses
  • Wheat Flour - 6 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Cream the butter with the sugar.

Step 2

Add the eggs and mix well.

Step 3

Add the flakes and stir.

Step 4

Add the baking powder and flour, and knead a soft dough.

Step 5

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour to allow the flakes to swell and soften.

Step 6

Grease the baking tray with oil or line it with parchment paper.

Step 7

Tear off small pieces of the dough, shape them into flat rounds (to make this easier, you can slightly wet your hands), and place them on a baking sheet, leaving some space between each.

Step 8

Place in a preheated oven at 356°F and bake for 15–20 minutes.
