Classic Omelette with Milk and Vegetables
Ingredients
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Wheat Flour - 1½ tablespoons
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 5 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Separate the eggs into whites and yolks in two different chilled bowls (!)
Step 2
First, beat the yolks (otherwise the whites will settle). Before beating, add milk to the yolks (using half an eggshell filled with milk for each egg, so for 5 eggs, use 5 half-shells of milk). Then sift in the flour. Beat for a few minutes with a mixer.
Step 3
Only add salt to the whites and beat them with a mixer in one direction (if you change direction, the whites will deflate themselves).
Step 4
Add the yolk mixture to the whites and gently but thoroughly mix everything with a spoon, maintaining the same direction as when beating the whites.
Step 5
Pour the eggs into a preheated frying pan with butter, cover with a lid, and cook until done without flipping on low heat at medium flame. There will be something like foam on top of the omelette, but don’t worry, it’s still cooked.
Step 6
Place the omelette on a plate with the more cooked side down, and on the less cooked side, you can add any filling, such as separately sautéed mushrooms, vegetables, etc. Fold the omelette in half, cut it into 4 pieces, garnish with herbs, and serve.
