Ingredients

  • Butter - 8.5 oz
  • Vanilla extract - 1½ teaspoons
  • Coconut Liqueur - ¾ teaspoon
  • Powdered Sugar - 2¼ cups
  • Wheat Flour - 2¼ cups
  • Orange zest - 1½ tablespoons
  • Salt - ½ teaspoon
  • Desiccated coconut - 1¼ cups

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 356°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Spread the shredded coconut on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes until golden brown.

Step 2

Using a mixer, beat the butter, 0.5 cups of powdered sugar, and both extracts. Add the flour, zest, and salt. Then add the coconut, mix well, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight. Slightly knead the dough before baking.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 356°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Take 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into balls, placing them on the baking sheets. Bake for about 18 minutes until golden brown on the bottom but pale on top. Transfer to a plate and cool for 5 minutes. Place the remaining powdered sugar in a bowl. Roll the cookies in the sugar until fully coated.
