Description

Coffee flan is a delightful dessert that combines the rich flavors of coffee with a creamy, smooth texture. This indulgent treat is perfect for serving at gatherings or enjoying on a quiet evening at home. It can be topped with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cocoa powder for an extra touch of elegance.

Ingredients

  • Sugar - ¾ glasses
  • Condensed Milk - 1¼ glasses
  • Milk - 3¾ glasses
  • Chicken Egg - 5 pieces
  • Water - 6 teaspoons
  • Vanilla salt - 1 tablespoon
  • Instant coffee - 4½ spoons
  • Salt - 0,1 teaspoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Place a glass or ceramic round baking dish (about 8-9 inches in diameter) in an oven preheated to 320°F.

Step 2

Combine water (2 tablespoons) with sugar in a small saucepan, place over medium heat, and stir until it comes to a boil. Wait for the sugar to dissolve, then immediately pour the sugar syrup into a skillet and continue melting the sugar without stirring.

Step 3

When the sugar turns a dark amber color, quickly pour the caramel into the preheated baking dish. Tilt the dish a few times to allow the caramel to spread evenly across the bottom. Let it cool and then refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4

Dissolve the coffee in hot water (4 tablespoons), let it cool slightly, and blend it with milk, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, vanilla, and salt.

Step 5

Pour the prepared cream over the set caramel and immediately place it in the oven.

Step 6

Bake the flan in a water bath for about 70-80 minutes at 320°F, placing it on the middle rack of the oven. (The flan is considered done when the egg mixture turns into a firm, jelly-like consistency.)

Step 7

Place the finished flan in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, but do not freeze.

Step 8

To unmold the flan, first carefully run a thin knife around the edges to separate it from the sides of the mold. Then, place the mold directly into a bowl of hot water. After 20 seconds, remove the mold from the water, quickly cover it with a large, deep plate, flip it over, and repeat the process with another plate.

Step 9

Before serving, allow the chilled flan to warm up at room temperature for 30 to 40 minutes.
