Description
Gallets, or so-called digestive biscuits, are a popular type of diet cookie in England.
Ingredients
- Digestive Biscuits - 12 pieces
- Melted Cheese - 1.8 oz
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 10.6 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Canned water chestnuts - 14.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Crumble the biscuits and mix them with the melted butter and half of the powdered sugar. Distribute the resulting mixture evenly across the bottom and sides of a round baking dish using your hands. Place it in the refrigerator for a while to let the dough firm up.
Step 2
Beat the cheese (ricotta is preferable), eggs, and the remaining powdered sugar together. Pour the resulting mixture over the crust and place the dish in the oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Allow the baked pie to cool for half an hour, then top it with the canned cherries. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Serve cold.
