Description
Cottage Cheese and Semolina Casserole is a delightful dish made with creamy cottage cheese and fine semolina. This recipe is perfect for breakfast or as a light dessert. It's easy to prepare and can be served warm or chilled. Enjoy it with a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of fresh fruit for added flavor!
Ingredients
- Cottage cheese - 17.6 oz
- Sour Cream - 3 spoons
- Chicken Egg - 4 pieces
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Semolina - 5.3 oz
- Vanilla salt - 2 spoons
- Candied fruits - 1.8 oz
- Breadcrumbs - 2 spoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the cottage cheese with sour cream, then add semolina, vanilla, and chopped candied fruits. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours to allow the semolina to swell. (The cottage cheese can be either full-fat or low-fat. It's best if it's soft but not watery.)
Step 2
Whisk the egg yolks with sugar, add the softened butter (set aside a small piece for greasing the pan), mix a little more, and combine with the cottage cheese mixture.
Step 3
Whip the egg whites. Gently fold them into the other ingredients.
Step 4
Grease a loaf pan with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the batter into the pan and bake until golden brown for 40-50 minutes.
Step 5
Carefully remove the finished casserole from the oven (to prevent it from sinking), let it cool in the pan, and then turn it out onto a plate. The casserole will look just like a cake.
