Description

The finished roses can be sprinkled with powdered sugar, cinnamon, drizzled with honey or maple syrup, or even condensed milk, but that's for true sweet tooths. For chocolate lovers, I recommend making a simple chocolate glaze. For this, just take a small amount of cocoa and sugar (or Nesquik, but then don't add sugar) and dilute it with water until it reaches the consistency of liquid sour cream. You can drizzle the roses with this glaze right away or serve it separately on the table in a nice vase, so your guests can pour or dip their cookies into it. From the specified amount of ingredients, I get 18–20 roses cut with a glass. Enjoy your meal.

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese - 8.8 oz
  • Butter - 3.5 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 15.9 oz
  • Egg white - 2 pieces
  • Sugar - ½ cup
  • Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Activated Baking Soda - a pinch

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 338°F.

Step 2

Rub the room temperature butter with the cottage cheese, sugar, and yolks. Quench the baking soda with lemon juice and add it to the other ingredients. Also, add the vanilla sugar and flour. Mix well. For convenience, divide the resulting dough into four parts.

Step 3

Roll out one part into a thin layer and cut out circles using a glass. If you want your roses to be small, it's better to use a shot glass.

Step 4

Roll one circle into a small roll, wrap the second circle around it, then add another 2–3 circles to form a rose. Do the same with the remaining dough.

Step 5

Gently open the petals at the top of the bud and flatten the bottom so that the roses can stand on the baking sheet.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, until the roses turn golden.
