Description

Cottage Cheese Trifle with Apples and Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Sugar - 1.2 oz
  • Cottage cheese - 7.1 oz
  • Green Apples - ¼ piece
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
  • Cocoa Powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Orange zest - ½ tablespoon
  • Cointreau - 2 tablespoons
  • Orange juice concentrate - 1 fl oz
  • Sponge Cake Base - 1 piece
  • Strawberry - 3 pieces
  • Fresh Mint - 1 stem

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a bowl, mix the egg with sugar, place the bowl over a water bath, and whisk until thickened. Let it cool slightly, then add the cottage cheese, beat the mixture with a mixer until fluffy, and divide into three equal parts.

Step 2

Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the peeled and diced apple until soft. Season with cinnamon and mix with the first part of the cottage cheese cream. Layer it into two glasses.

Step 3

Mix the orange juice and 2.5 tablespoons of Cointreau. Cut circles from the sponge to fit the size of the glasses, soak them in the juice and liqueur mixture, and place them on top of the cottage cheese-apple layer.

Step 4

Mix the second part of the cottage cheese cream with cocoa powder and distribute it among the glasses. Again, cut circles from the sponge, soak them, and place them on top of the chocolate-cottage cheese layer.

Step 5

Mix the remaining part of the cottage cheese cream with orange zest and 0.5 tablespoon of Cointreau, and layer it on top of the sponge. Refrigerate.

Step 6

Before serving, garnish the dessert with strawberries and mint leaves.
