Description
Any white rice is suitable for rice porridge, but it's best to avoid parboiled rice. However, this depends on whether you prefer a fluffier or creamier porridge.

- Rice - ½ glasses
- Water - 1 glass
- Milk - 1 glass
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place water in a heavy-bottomed pot over the heat. Bring to a boil. Add the rinsed rice, and while constantly stirring, reduce the heat. Add salt. Cook the porridge until it is semi-cooked — until the liquid thickens to a jelly-like consistency and the rice grains swell — about 10–15 minutes.
Step 2
Add milk to the porridge — not all at once, but enough to achieve the desired thickness and a little extra (to account for evaporation). Continue stirring and cook until done.
Step 3
Remove from heat and immediately serve on warm plates.
