Crescent Cookies with Chocolate

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Butter - 0.1 oz
  • Sugar - 3.5 oz
  • Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Activated Baking Soda - a pinch
  • Chocolate - 3.5 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Boil sugar and 4 tablespoons of water to make a sugar syrup until the sugar is completely dissolved, then cool.

Step 2

Soften the butter, mix it with the egg yolks and sugar syrup. Add the flour with cinnamon and baking soda, and knead into a thick dough. Roll it into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 1 hour.

Step 3

Divide the dough into several pieces, roll them into logs, and cut them into pieces 5–6 cm long. Shape into crescents, place on a greased baking sheet, and bake in a preheated oven at 338°F until golden, about 15 minutes. Remove and cool.

Step 4

Melt the chocolate in a water bath and let it cool slightly. Prepare a rack by placing paper towels or plastic wrap underneath. Dip the ends of the crescents into the melted chocolate and place them on the rack, trying to minimize contact between the chocolate and the surface. Place in the refrigerator to let the chocolate set.
