Ingredients
- Ham - 7.1 oz
- Puff Pastry - 17.6 oz
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 3.5 oz
- Whole egg - 1 piece
- Dijon Mustard - 4 tablespoons
- Water - to taste
- Toasted Sesame - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Roll out the dough in one direction (to avoid mixing the layers) into a rectangle. The thickness of the rolled-out dough depends on your preference. I don't make it too thin.
Step 2
Cut the rectangle into elongated isosceles triangles.
Step 3
Spread Dijon mustard on each triangle (a very thin layer, just don't overdo it).
Step 4
Place thinly sliced ham on each triangle (it's better if it's sliced at the store — then it will be thin enough).
Step 5
On top of the ham, add grated Parmesan cheese.
Step 6
Make a cut at the base of the triangle and roll the croissant towards the pointed end of the triangle.
Step 7
Place the formed 'croissants' on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 8
In a cup, mix equal parts of egg yolk and boiled water.
Step 9
Brush this mixture over the croissants.
Step 10
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top in any amount.
Step 11
Send the baking sheet to an oven preheated to 356°F.
Step 12
Bake for 20–30 minutes until golden brown.
