Description
The recipe is taken from a collection of recipes by Anna Johnson.
Ingredients
- Water - 2 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
- Brown Sugar - 1.4 oz
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 0.2 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Jam - 0.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Gradually mix the water with the sugar and vegetable oil. Add the flour, salt, lemon zest, and knead a stiff dough, adding more flour if necessary. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in an airtight container, then refrigerate for 40 minutes. After the dough has rested, divide it into two parts. Use one part for the base and the other for decoration.
Step 2
Roll out the dough thinly, about 5 mm thick, on parchment paper and place it in a mold with a diameter of 18–20 cm. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the mold, trim the uneven edges, and add the scraps to the second part of the dough.
Step 3
Spread the jam on top of the first layer of dough.
Step 4
You can decorate the pie in three ways: 1. Classic. Roll out the dough, cut it into long strips of equal width, and arrange a lattice over the filling; 2. Completely cover with dough. Use the rolled-out dough to make many heart shapes with a cookie cutter and place them in circles from the outer edges to the center of the pie; 3. Make figures from the dough and place them on top of the jam.
Step 5
Place the pie in an oven preheated to 356°F for 35–40 minutes. Once it cools to room temperature, it can be served.
