Description
Crumble is a sweet pastry topping. It is used to decorate baked goods. With its help, you can prepare the popular English dessert known as crumble and the traditional German cake called kuchen.
Ingredients
- Butter - 8.8 oz
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Raw cane sugar - 4.4 oz
- Ground Almonds - 4.4 oz
- Powdered Sugar - 3 oz
- Gooseberry - 12.3 oz
- Chopped almonds - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 374°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Step 2
Cut the butter into cubes, add the self-rising flour, ground almonds, and sugar, and using a hand blender, blend the mixture into a coarse crumble. Reserve a couple of tablespoons for the top layer, then spread the rest on a baking sheet and gently press it down.
Step 3
Combine the gooseberries with powdered sugar, spread them over the dough, and sprinkle with almond flakes mixed with the remaining crumbs. Bake in the oven for about an hour, until the pie is covered with a golden crust. Let it cool, dust with powdered sugar, cut into six pieces, and serve.
