Description
If the currants were frozen, thaw them first and drain any excess liquid. You can also do this with cherries and other berries (to your liking).
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 3.5 oz
- Sugar - 2.5 oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Vanilla salt - 0.4 oz
- Baking Powder - ½ g
- Red Currant - 8.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cream the softened butter with sugar and vanilla sugar.
Step 2
Add the egg and mix well.
Step 3
Add the flour and baking powder, and mix until the batter is smooth.
Step 4
Transfer the dough to a greased baking pan (I am using a 20 cm diameter pan) and smooth the surface.
Step 5
Arrange the currants on the dough (no need to press them in).
Step 6
Sprinkle with sugar (2 tablespoons).
Step 7
Place in a preheated oven at 356°F. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
