Description

In this recipe, all ingredients can be substituted with alternatives. Almonds can be replaced with any other nut, and chia seeds can be swapped for any seeds, be it flax or sesame. You can use any combination of dried fruits to your liking, and orange juice can be substituted with any other citrus or fruit. In our variation, we add dried lime for a candy-like freshness and roll the candies in dried and powdered kaffir lime leaves. As a topping, you can choose shredded coconut or crushed black or white sesame seeds.

Ingredients

  • Pitted olives - 2.1 oz
  • Prunes - 1.1 oz
  • Dried cranberries with sugar - 1.4 oz
  • Ground dried cherries - 2.1 oz
  • Almond - 1.1 oz
  • Orange juice concentrate - 0 fl oz
  • Chia Seeds - 0.4 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Place the dates in the mixing bowl.

Add prunes to the mixture.

Step 3

Add the cherries and cranberries.

Step 4

Add the almonds there as well.

Step 5

Add orange juice.

Blend until smooth. The mixture will be quite thick, depending on the dried fruits used. It is necessary to blend in several batches, stirring the mixture with a spatula. If you don't have a food processor at home, you can pass the dried fruits through a meat grinder twice or chop them with a knife, but the consistency will not be as uniform.

Add chia seeds to the mixture.

Mix well and refrigerate the mixture. These candies are at their most delicious and refreshing when very cold, and they are highly resistant to temperature changes, allowing them to be stored on the shelf for a long time in a dry coating.
