Dumplings with cottage cheese — our 'Golden Thousand' couldn't do without them! Another classic among Russian dough crafts.
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Water - 4 fl oz
- Milk - 4 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 15.9 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
- Cottage cheese - 21.2 oz
- Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Butter - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Sour Cream - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Beat the egg with water, milk, and a teaspoon of salt.
Step 3
Add the sifted flour and knead the dough. You can do this using a mixer and then finish kneading by hand. Pour 20 ml of vegetable oil onto the table and incorporate it into the dough; the oil will make the dough more elastic.
Step 4
Pour 20 ml of vegetable oil onto the countertop and knead it into the dough; the oil will make the dough more elastic. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes.

Mix the cottage cheese with sugar and a pinch of salt.

Roll out a portion of the dough.

Place a spoonful of filling onto the dough and tightly seal the edges, making sure to remove any air from inside the dumplings. Arrange the finished dumplings on a floured surface.

In a large pot, bring water to a boil, add a pinch of salt, and drop in the dumplings. Wait for them to float to the surface, then cook them for an additional 5 minutes. Transfer the cooked dumplings to a large bowl with butter.
