Easter Bread with Orange Candies
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 28.2 oz
- Milk - 7 fl oz
- Dry yeast - 2.1 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 6 pieces
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Raisins - 3.5 oz
- Orange Candies - 3.5 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 teaspoon
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Powdered Sugar - ½ cup
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in warm milk, add 400 g of flour, and knead the dough. Cover with a towel and place in a warm spot for 2 hours.
Step 2
Wash and dry the raisins. Finely chop the candies. Beat the egg yolks with sugar.
Step 3
Add the remaining flour to the risen dough, then add the yolks, warm butter, salt, and knead thoroughly.
Step 4
Add the beaten egg whites to the dough. Mix quickly and let it rise.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 392°F. Add the raisins and candies to the dough and distribute it into baking forms lined with parchment paper.
Step 6
Let the dough rise to half the height of the forms. Bake for 1 hour. After 30 minutes, cover the top of the bread with a sheet of parchment paper moistened with water.
Step 7
For the glaze, beat the egg white with powdered sugar, then add lemon juice. Decorate the bread with the glaze.
