Ingredients

  • Water - 1 cup
  • Butter - 10.6 oz
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Wheat Flour - 1 cup
  • Cottage cheese - 14.1 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 4 pieces
  • Sugar - 1¼ cups
  • Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Apple - 3 pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

For the dough, add salt and 70 grams of butter to the water. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and gradually add all the flour, mixing well. The dough should be homogeneous and easily pull away from the sides of the pot. Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, and then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 356°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a pastry syringe (or a dessert spoon: before scooping the dough, dip the spoon and your fingers in warm water to prevent sticking, and you can use your fingers to create a decorative pattern on the pastry), pipe small balls onto the baking sheet, leaving about 3 cm between them. Bake in the oven until they are brownish-golden.

Step 3

For the cottage cheese cream, beat the cottage cheese with 200 grams of butter and 1 cup of sugar until smooth. You can add vanilla if desired.

Step 4

For the apple filling, cut the apples into small cubes or slices. In a preheated skillet, melt 30 grams of butter, add the apples, and mix well. After a few minutes, add a quarter cup of sugar and the cinnamon. Fry, stirring well, until the apples become soft.

Step 5

Remove the pastries from the oven, let them cool slightly, and cut them in half (you can cut them not all the way through). Fill the bottom half with the cottage cheese cream, top with the apples, and close with the top half. Optionally, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
