Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
- English Dry Mustard - ½ teaspoon
- Cheese Spread - 4.6 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Dessert Yogurt - 4 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour and combine it with the baking powder and mustard powder. Cut the butter into cubes. Combine the butter with the flour and rub it into crumbs.
Step 2
Grate the hard cheese. Set aside 10 g for sprinkling. Add 120 g to the crumbs and mix.
Step 3
Beat 1 egg with the yogurt (can be substituted with milk) and pour it into the dry ingredients.
Step 4
Mix initially with a spatula, then with your hands until a soft, smooth dough forms.
Step 5
Roll the dough out to a thickness of 2 cm and cut out scones with a round cookie cutter (7 cm in diameter).
Step 6
Separate the yolk from the white (the white can be used for cookies). Brush the scones with the yolk and sprinkle with cheese. Place them on a baking sheet with space between each and send them to a preheated oven at 428°F. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the scones rise and turn light golden.
Step 7
Remove the finished scones from the oven, let them sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
