Fig Rolls
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1¾ cups
- Baking Powder - ¼ teaspoon
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Activated Baking Soda - ¼ teaspoon
- Butter - 4.2 oz
- Whole egg - 1 piece
- Mascarpone Cheese Unagrande - 4.1 oz
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Honey - 7½ tablespoons
- Green Figs - 3.5 oz
- Orange juice concentrate - 2 tablespoons
- Orange zest - 2 teaspoons
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 2
In a food processor, combine the softened butter, mascarpone, egg yolk, and vanilla, then add the flour mixture, mix well, and form the dough into a ball.
Step 3
Divide the dough in half and shape each half into rectangles measuring 15x5 cm. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1.5 hours.
Step 4
In a food processor, chop the figs and mix with honey, orange juice, orange zest, and cinnamon.
Step 5
Roll out 1 piece of dough between 2 sheets of parchment paper, remove the top sheet, and spread half of the filling, leaving a small border. Roll the dough from the long side, gradually removing the paper. Repeat the same with the second half. Wrap the rolls in parchment and chill for 4 hours.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 374°F.
Step 7
Cut the rolls into small pieces and place them on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to a plate and cool.
