Flourless Chocolate Cake with Walnuts
Ingredients
- Liquid dark chocolate - 17.6 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 6 pieces
- Brandy - 2 tablespoons
- Walnuts - 5.8 oz
- Whipped Cream - 8 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 302°F. Grease a round cake pan with butter and line the bottom with parchment paper. Place the chocolate in a small saucepan and set it over a water bath. Melt the chocolate.
Step 2
Break the eggs into a large bowl and add the brandy. Set over a water bath. Whisk the mixture with a mixer on high speed for 7 minutes until light and fluffy. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Using a metal spoon, quickly fold the melted chocolate and crushed walnuts into the egg mixture. Mix well. Add the whipped cream and pour into the prepared pan. Place the pan on a baking sheet and pour hot water around it until it reaches halfway up the sides of the pan. Bake for 1 hour. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Step 4
Transfer the cake to a serving plate, remove the paper, and cut into pieces. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve with cream.
