- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Butter - 10.6 oz
- Egg white - 3 pieces
- Sour Cream - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the shortcrust pastry: mix 300 grams of flour with 100 grams of sugar in a deep bowl and grate 300 grams of frozen butter or 350 grams of baking margarine into this mixture using a coarse grater, quickly mixing everything so that each piece of butter is coated with flour but does not melt in your hands.
Step 2
Knead the dough with 3 yolks mixed with 1–2 tablespoons of sour cream.
Step 3
Place the finished dough in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes, then roll it out on a floured board to a thickness of 3–5 mm and use cookie cutters to cut out flower shapes.
Step 4
Place each flower in a muffin tin so that the tips of the petals slightly rise above the tin.
Step 5
Put the tins with the dough on a baking sheet, place it in a well-heated oven, and immediately reduce the heat to medium.
Step 6
Watch to ensure the petals of the baskets do not burn: as soon as they begin to turn brown, remove the baking sheet from the oven and take the tins off.
Step 7
Prepare the filling according to your preference: you can fill them with meringue, boiled condensed milk, apricot or orange jam, or place half an apricot from compote or jam in each basket.
