Description
As an option, you can add vanilla or cinnamon to the apple filling :-)
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Water - 3 fl oz
- Salt - 0.1 oz
- Green Apples - 8 pieces
- Sugar - 4 tablespoons
- Vanilla salt - 0.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour the flour into a mound, place the cold butter on top, and chop everything with a knife into crumbs, then add salt. Gradually pour in the cold water while continuing to chop, forming a uniform ball of dough. You need to act quickly so that the butter doesn't melt too much from the heat of your hands. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Step 2
Peel and core two apples, then cut them into small cubes. Pour 2 tablespoons of water into the bottom of a thick-bottomed saucepan, add the apples, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar, and cook the filling over low heat. This will take about 30 minutes.
Step 3
Peel the remaining apples, remove the cores, and cut them first into halves, then into quarters, and finally into thin slices.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 392°F.
Step 5
Divide the dough into two parts (put the second half in the freezer—you'll definitely want to make this pie again).
Step 6
Roll out the dough to fit the size of the baking dish, considering the edges, and transfer it to a greased baking dish. Prick the bottom with a fork, then spread the apple filling on top, and tightly arrange the apple slices, starting from the outer edge of the dish and gradually moving towards the center.
Step 7
Place in the oven for 20–30 minutes. The apples will bake on top, while the filling will remain soft inside.
