Fried Pies with Onion and Egg
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2 lbs
- Dry yeast - 0.4 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 6 pieces
- Water - 17 fl oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Safflower Oil - 7 fl oz
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Scallions - 1 bunch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour through a sieve into a deep bowl.
Step 2
Add the dry yeast.
Step 3
Pour one tablespoon of sugar into the yeast and flour.
Step 4
Add half a teaspoon of salt.
Step 5
Melt the butter in the microwave or in a water bath and pour it into the mixture.
Step 6
Add 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil.
Step 7
Crack 1 chicken egg into the mixture.
Step 8
Gently mix all the ingredients with a fork.
Step 9
Gradually pour in the water and knead the dough. Knead the dough for 10 minutes.

Cover the dough with a towel and place it in a warm place for 1 hour.

Boil 5 eggs and chop them into small cubes.

Rinse the green onion well under running water and finely chop it. Then combine the onion and egg, and salt to taste.

The dough should increase 2–3 times in size.

Pour the remaining vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it until bubbles appear.

Form balls of approximately equal size from the dough.

Shape them into small patties.

Place 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each patty.

Then pinch the edges of the patty to form a pie.

Place the pies in the frying pan with the seam side down.

Fry on both sides until golden brown. Place the finished pies on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
