Description
Fruit Granita
Ingredients
- Watermelon - 12.3 oz
- Watermelon - 10.6 oz
- Lime Juice - 1 tablespoon
- Orange zest - 1 piece
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 3 tablespoons
- Citrus Zest Mix - ½ piece
- Sugar - 2.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grate the zest of 1 lime using a fine grater and squeeze the juice out of it. Remove the seeds from the watermelon flesh and cut it into small pieces. Place all the ingredients for the watermelon granita into a blender and blend until completely smooth. The amount of sugar can be adjusted to taste and depending on the sweetness of the watermelon. I added 50 grams.
Step 2
Do the same with the melon, but substitute lime with lemon.
Step 3
Pour into 2 molds in an even layer and place in the refrigerator. Every half hour, thoroughly stir the freezing mixture with a fork to prevent it from freezing into one solid block of ice, resulting in a fluffy snow-like texture.
Step 4
When the ice is fully ready (it took me 3 hours), it can be served.
