Description

You can add any fruits to the filling: blueberries, strawberries, plums — depending on the season.

Ingredients

  • Grapefruits - 17.6 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 1½ cups
  • Sugar - ½ cup
  • Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Egg white - 2½ pieces
  • Butter - 3.5 oz
  • Sour Cream - 2 tablespoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

For the dough, mix the butter with sugar (to taste — I usually add a couple of tablespoons), one egg, and add flour with baking powder.

Step 2

For the filling, mix sour cream, one egg, and sugar (3–5 tablespoons, depending on the sweetness of the fruits).

Step 3

Place the dough in a rimmed baking dish, brush the bottom of the dough with egg white (to prevent the juice from softening the dough and to ensure it bakes properly). Arrange the fruits in an artistic mess along the edges and on the bottom.

Step 4

Place in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 40 minutes until the dough is cooked.

Step 5

5 minutes before it is fully cooked, pour the filling over the fruits and return to the oven for another 5–10 minutes until set.
