Description
If you're too lazy to make crème fraîche, you can substitute it with yogurt or farmer's thick sour cream. Crème fraîche is easy to make at home — it’s a traditional component of French cuisine that is sometimes sold here, and it tastes very similar to real sour cream, but is essentially something in between sour cream and heavy cream. To make crème fraîche, take equal parts of farmer's sour cream (with a limited shelf life) and 20% cream. Mix them in a plastic container or jar and leave at room temperature for a day, after which store it in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
- Pineapple - ½ piece
- Green Papaya - ½ piece
- Strawberry - 8.8 oz
- Fresh Mint - 3 stems
- Fresh basil leaves - to taste
- Crème fraîche - 7.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the half melon into medium pieces.
Step 2
Remove the stems from the strawberries and slice them in half or quarters lengthwise, depending on their size.
Step 3
Peel the pineapple (about half of a medium one or 1/3 of a large one), remove the core, and cut into medium pieces.
Step 4
Mix all the ingredients in a salad bowl, and top with mint and basil leaves (it's best to use small leaves from the top of the stem).
Step 5
Serve with crème fraîche.
