Description

In this recipe, you can use dried fruits, berries, and fresh fruits. But remember that everything should be dry. Do not separate the orange segments from the white pith.

Ingredients

  • Grapefruits - to taste
  • Sugar - 31.7 oz
  • Water - 8 fl oz
  • Light Corn Syrup - 2 fl oz
  • Grated Ginger Root - 4 pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Increase the heat and bring to a boil, brushing the sides of the pot with a wet brush. Without stirring, cook the caramel until it takes on a golden hue and the temperature reaches 284°F, occasionally swirling the pot. This will take about 20 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 2

Holding onto wooden sticks, carefully dip one piece of fruit into the caramel and gently twist to coat the fruit completely. Allow excess caramel to drip off and place on a prepared baking sheet. Repeat the same with the remaining fruits.

Step 3

Grapes can be dipped in caramel by holding onto the stem, a few berries at a time, and placing them on the baking sheet.

Step 4

Allow the caramel to set and serve.

Step 5

Line a large baking sheet with foil. Cut the fruits into pieces and take 36 pieces. Insert wooden skewers into each piece.

Step 6

In a small pot, combine sugar and water. Place over low heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add corn syrup and ginger.
