- Wheat Flour - 7.9 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Baking Powder - 1½ teaspoons
- Raw cane sugar - 4.1 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
- Butter - 6 tablespoons
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Light Molasses - 5.3 oz
- Grated Ginger Root - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a bowl, sift together the ginger, baking powder, baking soda, ground spices, and flour.
Step 2
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the sugar, diced butter, and both types of molasses (100 g light and 50 g dark).
Step 3
Pour the melted mixture into the dry ingredients, add the milk, beaten egg, and ginger, and mix well.
Step 4
Pour the prepared batter into a greased baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for 45–50 minutes.
