Description
Ginger Cocoa Cookies
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 8.8 oz
- Butter - 2.5 oz
- Brown Sugar - 2.8 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 teaspoon
- Cocoa Powder - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the butter into cubes, combine it with sugar, the egg, and beat with a mixer for 2–3 minutes until a homogeneous mass is achieved.
Step 2
Add flour, ginger, cinnamon, and cocoa (the cocoa will give the cookies a brownish tint). Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for half an hour.
Step 3
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin between two sheets of parchment paper. The thickness of the layer should be approximately 5–7 mm.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut out shapes from the dough and place them on the baking sheet (if you plan to hang the cookies on a Christmas tree, don't forget to make holes in the shapes for the strings).
Step 5
Bake for 5–10 minutes (depending on the thickness of the cookies).
Step 6
Once the cookies have cooled, they can be decorated with colorful icing.
