Gingerbread Cookies with Lemon Glaze
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 11 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - 0 oz
- Ground Cinnamon - 0 oz
- Grated Ginger Root - 0.1 oz
- Salted Butter - 4.4 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Gingerbread-flavored syrup - 1 fl oz
- Red Food Coloring - to taste
- Brown Sugar - 6 oz
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Powdered Sugar - 2.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sift the flour from the large bag, baking soda, ginger, and cinnamon into a bowl.
Step 2
Add the butter and mix by hand until the mixture resembles bread crumbs, then add the sugar and stir.
Step 3
Lightly beat the egg, add the sugar syrup, and whisk until the mixture thickens.
Step 4
Add the egg mixture to the bowl and knead until smooth; wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Roll out the dough to a thickness of 0.5 cm on a lightly floured surface using flour from the small bag, cut out cookies in various shapes using cookie cutters or a knife, and place them on a baking sheet, leaving space between the cookies.
Step 6
Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 356°F for 10 minutes, transfer to a tray, and let cool for 10 minutes; make the glaze: squeeze the lemon juice, gradually add 1 teaspoon of juice to the powdered sugar, stirring until thickened.
Step 7
Brush the cookies with the glaze, let them dry, and decorate the cookies using coloring pencils; you can make a hole for a ribbon and hang the cookies on the tree.
