Description
In the lead-up to New Year and Christmas, it's a sin not to share one's own experience in creating a themed culinary masterpiece. This process is quite labor-intensive and meticulous, but very engaging and interesting for the whole family! Moreover, the result is worth the effort.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Honey - 8.8 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 tablespoon
- Cocoa Powder - 0.4 oz
- Ground Cinnamon - 1½ teaspoons
- Vanillin - 0.2 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Powdered Sugar - 5.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix all the dry ingredients: flour, spices, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Step 2
In warm honey, melted to a liquid state, add the eggs and mix.
Step 3
Add the dry ingredients to the egg-honey mixture and knead a pliable dough (this will require considerable effort and time). Place the dough in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap or a plastic bag and refrigerate overnight.
Step 4
Remove the dough from the refrigerator, roll it out on a flat surface to a thickness of 5 mm, and cut out the house parts according to pre-drawn templates.
Step 5
Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 8 minutes.
Step 6
Allow the pieces to cool.
Step 7
Meanwhile, make the egg white icing — 'snow': whisk the egg white (preferably with an electric whisk), gradually adding the powdered sugar. The icing should not be liquid.
Step 8
Assemble the house parts by 'gluing' them together with the icing. It’s better to do this with a helper and take your time, allowing each seam to dry.
Step 9
Finally, decorate with any confectionery decor.
