Description

Giraffe Cake

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 25.4 oz
  • Sugar - 12.7 oz
  • Margarine - 7.1 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 4 pieces
  • Milk - 9 fl oz
  • Vinegar essence - to taste
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Butter - 4.4 oz
  • Powdered Sugar - 8.5 oz
  • Black licorice - 2 pieces
  • Red Food Coloring - to taste
  • Marshmallow - 3 pieces
  • Pastry gel - to taste
  • Fresh Mint - 2 pieces
  • Breadstick - 2 pieces
  • Yellow Sugar - to taste
  • Chocolate - 1.8 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Grease one rectangular baking pan measuring 20x30 cm and one pan measuring 8x26 cm with butter. Whisk together the flour, sugar, margarine, eggs, 240 ml of milk, a bit of vanilla essence, and a pinch of salt, then divide evenly between the pans. Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes for the larger pan and 25 minutes for the smaller one.

Step 2

Let sit for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a rack and allow to cool completely. Cut the number 2 out of the larger cake. Place the cakes on a board.

Step 3

Beat the softened butter with an electric mixer, gradually adding half of the powdered sugar, then 2 tablespoons of milk, and finally the remaining sugar. Set aside 3/4 of the frosting, and mix the rest with orange food coloring.

Step 4

Spread the orange frosting over the entire surface of the cake. Use a piping bag to draw chocolate spots on top. Cut the licorice into thin strips and outline the edges of the cake and the mouth. Cut the marshmallows in half, placing one half as the giraffe's eye. Place a green candy on top. Use a piping bag to draw the pupil of the eye with blue gel.

Step 5

Insert a mint leaf on top as ears. Dip the breadsticks and marshmallows in melted chocolate and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Leave until the chocolate hardens. Place the sticks on top as horns and sprinkle the orange frosting with yellow sugar.
