Description
A reliable and tested recipe for healthy granola. Prepare a larger batch so that on days when you have no time to make breakfast, you can easily grab some.
Ingredients
- Nuts - 7.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
- Honey - 4 spoons
- Dried Turkey - 7.1 oz
- Sunflower Seeds - 1.8 oz
- Oat flakes - 28.2 oz
- Shelled pumpkin seeds - 1.8 oz
- Flaxseeds - 1.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 302°F. Grease a large rimmed baking sheet with vegetable oil or spray it with oil from a can.
Step 3
Spread the oats on a baking sheet and mix them together. Bake for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Stir the oats and return them to the oven for another 15 minutes.
Step 5
Remove the baking tray from the oven and increase the temperature to 356°F. Add nuts (I used almonds and hazelnuts) and seeds to the oats, and mix well (right on the baking tray). Return to the oven for 5 minutes.
Step 6
In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil with honey (or maple syrup).
Step 7
Drizzle the mixture over the flakes and nuts on the baking sheet and mix well. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for about 10 more minutes until crispy. Stir once during baking. (Be careful not to overbake!)
Step 8
Add any dried fruits to your liking: I love prunes, apricots, and cranberries. Return the granola to the oven for another 10 minutes.
Step 9
Check the granola; if the nuts are toasted and the oats have turned golden brown, the granola is ready. Let it cool on the baking sheet for 25 minutes.
Step 10
Transfer the granola to a jar with a lid and store it at room temperature.
