Description
Besides grapes, I think you can use other fruits as well. This pie is based on a recipe by Jamie.
Ingredients
- Sugar - 9.5 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
- Butter - 6.3 oz
- Olive Oil - 3 fl oz
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 14.1 oz
- Vanilla Pod - 1 piece
- Baking Powder - 1½ teaspoons
- Grapefruits - 17.6 oz
- Grated Lemon Zest - 0.1 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 2 teaspoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Whisk the eggs with sugar for at least 8 minutes.
Step 2
Add the butter and olive oil, and continue whisking.
Step 3
Then pour in the milk and add vanilla or vanilla extract.
Step 4
Sift the flour with the baking powder and add it to the mixture, gently folding with a spatula.
Step 5
Add the orange and lemon zest. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes. Then, if you are baking in a pan that does not require flipping the pie after baking, add half of the grapes. If the pan is rigid and you plan to flip it upside down after baking, then add all the grapes.
Step 6
Pour the batter into a pan (at least 28 cm in diameter) and place it in a preheated oven at 356°F for 10 minutes. After this time, slightly pull out the pan with the future pie and sprinkle the remaining grapes on top. This is, of course, if the pie will not be flipped when removing it from the pan. If we added all the berries at the beginning, continue baking without interruption. Bake for another 45 minutes.
Step 7
If the top is already very browned and the time has not yet expired, cover it with foil.
