Grapefruit in Honey Syrup with Thyme
Ingredients
- Grapefruits - 3 pieces
- Thyme - 0.9 oz
- Dry White Wine - ½ cup
- Honey - 2½ tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the grapefruits and carefully cut out the segments with a sharp knife. Transfer to a bowl. Squeeze the juice from the remaining parts into a saucepan.
Step 2
In a mortar, lightly crush the thyme leaves until fragrant and add them to the saucepan with the juice. Also add the wine and honey. Bring to a boil and simmer on low heat until the volume is reduced to ½ cup, about 15 minutes.
Step 3
Strain the syrup and cool it.
Step 4
Place the grapefruit segments in dessert cups, drizzle with syrup, and garnish with thyme sprigs.
