Grated Fruit Pie
Ingredients
- Donut Peaches - 3 pieces
- Apple - 3 pieces
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Wheat Flour - 11.3 oz
- Corn Starch - 1.1 oz
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1.1 oz
- Vanilla salt - 1½ teaspoons
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Butter - 5.6 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Line the baking dish with parchment paper.
Step 3
Peel the peaches, cut them into 1.5 cm cubes, and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
Step 4
Peel the apples, remove the core. Cut the apples into 1.5 cm cubes.
Step 5
Mix the apples with the peaches. If the fruits are sour, add sugar, then add starch, vanilla sugar, lemon zest, and cinnamon, and mix well.
Step 6
Sift the flour into a deep bowl. Add baking powder and a pinch of salt, and mix.
Step 7
Add the diced chilled butter. Rub the butter into the flour until it resembles crumbs.
Step 8
Beat the egg and add it to the crumbs. Mix well with your hands, but do not try to form a single lump.
Step 9
Divide the dough into two parts; press one part into the bottom of the baking dish evenly.
Step 10
Spread the filling over the dough and level it out.
Step 11
Crumble the second part of the dough evenly over the filling and lightly press it down.
Step 12
Place the pie in a preheated oven at 356°F in the middle, and bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
Step 13
Remove from the oven, let cool for 10 minutes in the dish, then transfer to a table to cool completely. Serve with tea, optionally with a scoop of ice cream.
