Description
This recipe can be confidently made without mayonnaise. The only difference is that the dough turns out slightly more tender with mayonnaise.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 12.3 oz
- Margarine - 8.8 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 fl oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - 1.1 oz
- Mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon
- Pear Jam - 10.6 oz
- Activated Baking Soda - 0.2 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Safflower Oil - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grate the lemon zest, mix it with the flour and the baking soda that has been reacted with lemon juice. Grate the margarine into the resulting mixture.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, beat the egg with sugar and mayonnaise. Add the egg mixture to the flour with margarine and mix thoroughly. Knead the resulting crumb with your hands until a homogeneous mass forms.
Step 3
Divide the dough into 2 equal parts: place one in the freezer for 5 minutes, while rolling out the other and laying it on a baking paper greased with sunflower oil.
Step 4
Spread the jam over the rolled-out dough.
Step 5
Take the second part of the dough out of the freezer and grate it on top as a second layer.
Step 6
Place the pie in a preheated oven at 392°F for 15-20 minutes.
Step 7
The finished pie should be immediately cut into pieces and allowed to cool. It can be served with fresh berries, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
