Description
This filling is a standalone version of the traditional French Quiche Lorraine, served without a crust. It’s a basic recipe that can accommodate any creative additions. Besides ham and cheese, you can include any lightly sautéed vegetables, bacon, smoked or salted fish, and all types of meat, making sure to chop them finely.
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 6 pieces
- Leek - 1 piece
- Smoked Ham on the Bone - 3.5 oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Sour Cream - 7.1 oz
- 10% cream - 3 fl oz
- Nutmeg - to taste
- Emmental cheese - 1.8 oz
- Parsley - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Whisk the eggs with sour cream, cream, chopped parsley, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Combine the mixture with grated cheese.
Step 2
Dice the ham into 0.5 cm cubes and sauté in butter until lightly golden, then add the chopped leek (only the white part of the stem) and cook until the leek becomes soft.
Step 3
Pour the egg mixture over the contents of the skillet and place it in an oven preheated to 356°F for 20 minutes. Check to ensure the omelette is fully cooked (using any clean touch method — a spoon, fork, or impeccably clean finger). Remove the finished omelette from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes for easier slicing into portions, and serve.
