Description
Heart Cake
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 15.9 oz
- Sugar - 14.8 oz
- Chicken Egg - 8 pieces
- Butter - 15.9 oz
- Baking Powder - 2 spoons
- Red Food Coloring - 0.4 oz
- Vanilla Pod - 1 piece
- Powdered Sugar - 0.7 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Beat 150 g of softened butter with 120 g of sugar until smooth.
Step 2
Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to beat the mixture with a whisk attachment in the mixer.
Step 3
Sift 150 g of flour and 1 tsp of baking powder through a sieve. Add the dry mixture to the egg, butter, and sugar mixture, then add food coloring and knead the dough.
Step 4
For the red sponge cake, you will need a shallow, flat baking pan. Line it with parchment paper and transfer the batter onto it.
Step 5
Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for 35-40 minutes. Check for doneness with a skewer.
Step 6
Remove the cake layer and let it cool. Check its height – it should be about 2 cm. If it's taller, use a long, thin knife to slice the cake horizontally to reduce its height. Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut out heart shapes from the cake layer.
Step 7
Beat 300 g of softened butter with 300 g of sugar until smooth.
Step 8
Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to beat the mixture with the whisk attachment in the mixer.
Step 9
Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out all the seeds with a knife. Add the seeds to the mixing bowl along with the butter, sugar, and eggs.
Step 10
Sift 300 g of flour and 1 tsp of baking powder through a sieve. Add the dry mixture to the mixing bowl and knead the dough.
Step 11
Take a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
Step 12
Spread 1/4 of the dough at the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 13
Insert the red dough hearts into the center of the dough, packing them tightly as if forming a sausage.
Step 14
Pour the remaining batter over the hearts. It should completely cover them.
Step 15
Bake in an oven preheated to 356°F for 45 to 60 minutes.
Step 16
Allow the finished cake to cool, dust it with powdered sugar, and serve.
