Heart-Shaped Cookies with Jam
Ingredients
- Margarine - 2.6 oz
- Brown Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Vanilla salt - 0.9 oz
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Cardamom - 1 teaspoon
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Jam - to taste
- Powdered Sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cream the margarine with the sugar.
Step 2
Lightly beat the egg.
Step 3
Add the spices and most of the egg to the margarine-sugar mixture, and mix well.
Step 4
Sift in the flour with the baking powder, knead the dough, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Step 5
Roll out the dough to a thickness of 4–5 mm, and cut out circles. From half of the circles, use a heart-shaped cutter to remove the center. Place the whole circles on a baking sheet, brush with the remaining egg, place the circles with hearts on top, and gently press down. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Bake the shapes at 356°F for 15–20 minutes.
Step 7
Fill the warm cookies with jam. Dust with powdered sugar.
