Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
- Milk - 4 fl oz
- Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- Apple - 2 pieces
- Cinnamon - ¼ tablespoon
- Butter - 0.7 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in 4 tablespoons of warm milk. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes. Stir.
Step 2
Mix the flour with salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar, add the remaining milk, yeast, and knead the dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place, then punch down.
Step 3
For the filling, chop the apples into small pieces, add butter with 1 tablespoon of sugar and spices (let it sit for a while).
Step 4
When the dough has risen for the second time (another half hour after punching down), form it into balls. Roll out a ball, add the filling, and shape it into a pie.
Step 5
Place the pies on a baking sheet, cover with a damp cloth, and let them rest for another 30 minutes. Brush with beaten egg.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 392°F and bake the pies for about 25 minutes.
