Description
In winter, when fresh berries are not available, you can buy frozen ones, but it is essential to thaw the berries, let the juice drain, and blot any excess moisture with paper towels; otherwise, the dough of the buns will be raw inside.
Ingredients
- Fresh Berries - 8.8 oz
- Unleavened dough - 35.3 oz
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- Vanilla salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the yeast dough or buy ready-made if you have a trusted supplier.
Step 2
Roll out the dough on a board with a rolling pin or flatten it with your hands to a thickness of 1.5–2 cm to fit your baking tray.
Step 3
Sprinkle the blueberries over the dough. Fold the dough in half twice like an envelope, divide it into nine portions, and shape the buns, trying to make them layered by wrapping the dough with filling around your hand, not worrying about the proportions of the buns.
Step 4
Place the formed lumps onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper greased with oil. Let them rest for about 10–15 minutes.
Step 5
Dust the buns with flour mixed with a pinch of vanilla sugar through a sieve and brush with whipped egg yolks.
Step 6
Place in an oven preheated to 356°F for 20–25 minutes.
Step 7
Check for doneness with a wooden skewer, remove from the baking tray, and let cool, covering the buns with a paper towel.
