Description
Make a double batch; it won't take more time than making a single one, and you'll get twice the enjoyment.
Ingredients
- Cherry - 7.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 14.1 oz
- Water - ½ glasses
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash and remove the pits from the cherries (preferably use sour cherries).
Step 2
Prepare the dough: beat the egg, salt, and water together, then pour the mixture into the flour and knead a stiff dough — the firmer the dough, the better it will hold its shape.
Step 3
Roll out the dough and cut out circles using a glass.
Step 4
Place 3 or more cherries in each circle, sprinkle with about 0.5 teaspoons of sugar, then carefully fold and pinch the edges together, like you would with dumplings.
Step 5
Add the dumplings to boiling water and cook until they float to the surface (about 3–5 minutes).
Step 6
Remove, let cool, and serve (you can sprinkle sugar on top of the finished dumplings).
