Description
The amount of sunflower seeds depends on the desired volume of the prepared mixture.
Ingredients
- Water - 2 fl oz
- Safflower Oil - 4 fl oz
- Sunflower Seeds - 12.7 oz
- Wheat Flour - 8.5 oz
- Sugar - 10.6 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grind the seeds in a coffee grinder along with the husk until it reaches a paste-like consistency. It is better not to use a blender to avoid dulling the blades. A meat grinder can also be used if there is no coffee grinder at home.
Step 2
Prepare the syrup by pouring sugar into water, placing it on the stove, and boiling until the raw water taste disappears. Remember to skim off the foam. Remove the syrup from the heat and add the oil.
Step 3
Add the flour to the seed paste and mix well. You can pass the mixture through the meat grinder again to ensure the future halva is airy.
Step 4
Add the paste to the syrup, stir, and pour it into a special mold (a butter dish with a lid can be used).
Step 5
Place the halva in the refrigerator to set, placing a weight on top.
