Description
Homemade Napoleon Cake
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 4 lbs
- Butter - 21.2 oz
- Milk - 2 qt
- Sugar - 17.6 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Chocolate eggs - 5 pieces
- Vanillin - 0.2 oz
- Water - 7 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour 1.5 kg of flour onto a work surface. Cut 500 g of cold butter into cubes and place on the mound of flour, chopping thoroughly with a knife until it resembles fine crumbs.
Step 2
Mix cold water with salt and gradually pour it into the center of the mound while slowly mixing the entire mass. Continue until a uniform dough is formed.
Step 3
Divide the resulting dough into equal parts (I get 10) and roll out the layers to a thickness of up to 2 mm, baking them in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 15–20 minutes.
Step 4
For the cream, bring 2 liters of milk to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs and sugar, then gradually add to the milk, stirring continuously. Once all the egg mixture is added, cook the cream until thickened, making sure to keep the heat low to prevent burning (optionally, you can add butter to the cream).
Step 5
Cut the baked layers, place them on a plate, and generously spread cream between them. Crumble the leftover pieces of the layers using a grater or any other method to create crumbs. Sprinkle the top layer of cream with these crumbs. Place the cake in the refrigerator!
