Ingredients
- Butter - 2.5 oz
- Milk - 2 fl oz
- Rolled Oats No. 1 - 7.1 oz
- Dates - 10 pieces
- Raisins - 5.3 oz
- Walnuts - 3.5 oz
- Vanilla salt - 0.4 oz
- Coconut flakes - 2.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Lightly roast the nuts and place them in a blender.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a pan, add the oat flakes, and 'toast' the flakes until they evenly absorb the butter. Add the milk and 'simmer' while stirring until the mixture looks uniform and the milk is absorbed by the flakes. Add this mixture to the blender with the nuts.
Step 3
Rinse and soak the raisins and dates in boiling water for 15–20 minutes. Drain the water, remove the pits from the dates, and add them along with the raisins to the blender. (If the candies are NOT intended for children, you can add 1 teaspoon of brandy during the final blending step.) Add the sugar to the blender and blend everything until a homogeneous mass is formed.
Step 4
With wet hands, roll small balls and coat them in coconut flakes.
Step 5
Place the finished dish in the refrigerator for 30–45 minutes.
